Remote and beautiful. Fantastic view, miles and miles. I've seen some marvellous sunsets. It is such a quiet place I was never up early enough for the sunrise! I stayed in a new and very modern flat that had just about anything you could possibly imagine. Very pet friendly. As for the hosts, it suffices to mention that I have already booked my next stay!

Wow! My stay couldn't have been better! I like my peace and quiet and being able to get away from it all, and Cortijo Gazquez gives you just that. I stayed in the largest apartment, one of 3 all facing into a beautiful courtyard, and it was meticulously clean and tidy. Its modern with a hint of rustic from the wooden beams and really kind of cool, with TV and Wifi of course but the hot water and underfloor heating all come from solar panels. Its self-catering, and has a nice fully equipped kitchen area. Its open plan, with a separate bathroom/wet-room and bedroom. The location makes it a great base to go exploring the mountains - you can walk for hours. If you are active, like walking and exploring mountains, then this is a must. When you have finished exploring , then the pool will help cool you down and soothe those aching limbs! I won't forget either, my evenings sipping a few cold one's in the courtyard at the end of the day, whilst watching the sun go down - I will definitely be coming back here.

We’ve stayed here twice now, and will definitely return. The area is remote and very beautiful - real Spain. Can’t begin to describe the night time skies when the stars light up the outside terraces and surrounding landscape ! No light pollution here, absolutely stunning.
When you can drag yourself indoors. The self contained accommodation is first class, spacious, immaculately clean and comfortable.

We have just returned to the UK having stayed at Cortijo Gazquez for 5 days; what a marvelous experience it was! The courtyard apartments are situated in an incredibly beautiful location, with views that stretch miles. The sunsets and star filled night skies are breath taking!
The apartment itself was really tastefully decorated with all the furniture and fittings being of a really high standard. The kitchen contained everything you could possible need and there was a tray of coffee, tea sugar and condiments provided which was a great touch. Washing up products and tea towels were also provided.
The bathroom was wonderfully designed and they provide not only lovely quality bath towels but also pool towels, a great weight saver if flying.
The bedroom has plenty of hanging space and a huge, very comfortable bed, which combined with the total peace and quiet ensured we slept really well.
Within a 5 minute drive (25 minute walk down hill ) the village of Gor has a great little supermarket, where you are made to feel welcome and can buy all you should need for a holiday. There is also a local bakery and a good bar with amazing Tapas. Gor still has the feel of an authentic Spanish community and is totally different from the areas domintaed by tourism.
Cortijo Gazquez is simply wonderful and if you want to explore this beautiful province, it is a great base to have. The airport and city of Granada are about an hours drive and the rich history of Gorafe, Guadix and Baza just 30 minutes. But if you want to forget the car and walk it is the perfect location. For the less energetic there are sunbeds by the pool with views that immediately relax you.
Lydia and Mark have created a wonderful " off the grid haven" here yet there is still great Wi fI, mobile signal and satelite TV, for when you do want to touch base with the real world again. They have simply thought of everything; they know the area and have provided great guides as to where to visit and get the most from your stay. We strongly recommend Cortijo Gazquez if you want a wonderful accomodation when visting this beautiful part of Spain.

In the smoothing dry desert mountains of Andalusia, an amazing housing facility with top comfort facilities (nice bed, good wifi and clean kitchen) and calm surroundings. The views are simply amazing, with memorable sunsets and unique lighting.

I stayed in July with my daughter and can't recommend enough if you want to totally get away from the rat race somewhere that's also beautifully modern. The small town of Gor below is also worth a visit with a couple of superb tapas bars. The views are outstanding and the place gets every last second of the evening sun as it's perched right at the top of a hill. The owners are lovely and were incredibly welcoming to both of us. We will definitely stay again.

If you're looking for a quiet spot to get away from the rush of modern life, Cotijo Gazquez is well worth considering (but don't worry, there is wifi if you need the connection!). I stayed there for a long weekend in a clean, comfortable, modern apartment. Sometimes it is nice to be in a city with all it's lights, people and diversions. And sometimes it's nice to be with yourself, a few friends, nature and the wind. This place is good for these latter moments. Very nice landscape, panorama and - mood!
The two friendly and helpful hosts who speak English, Spanish and German live next door, with two curious but well behaving dogs and a cat.
Electricity is provided via battery buffered solar cells and a backup motor. If needed there is also wifi available.
Pizza from the stone oven is highly recommended!
